I put them on to tone it down, but still have the X and dual cutouts.
Yes, the H or X will tone it down a bit, in addition to picking up some power.

I got a pair of Dynatech Dual pattern mufflers, 3" in/out, V-rings and 2 180 degree 3" mandrel tubing. I mounted the mufflers directly to the collectors of the headers then ran the 3" piping to turndows just before the axle. GUESS WHAT, its loud! At idle its sounds just sweet, at light cruise its very deep with no rasp, at WOT ITS unbeliveable! Needless to say, I am going to add a set of Votrex cones after the mufflers to bring it down a notch. since the mufflers are attached to the collectors, I don't think and X or H pipe will do any thing, but I might experament with it.

<strong>There is a muffler that is 3.5" thick, and only 7" wide. Eldebrock. Look in Jegs or Summit.
