Question Hard wiring fans........

How hard is it to hard wire your fans to a toggle switch in your car???? My car is being worked on right now and they said my fans weren't working properly and I either needed to hard wire the fans or replace sensors but hard wiring is the way I am going I just need to know how hard it is/ how to do it to see if it would be better for me to do it myself.

The ECT (engine coolant temp) sensor lets the PCM know what the temp is. The pcm controls the fans. The pcm also decides how rich to run, and how much ignition timing advance, based on temp. And even whether to run in closed-loop or open-loop mode.

I'd make sure the ECT sensor is good (if it's not good that is - it could be relays or fuses). You can still hardwire the fans if you really want to, but the pcm needs a good temp signal too.

On an LS1 it's on the side of the left head, near the front, but I don't know where it is on an LT1.
