QTEC and Mccord pics and comments inside

Overall the qtec is badass. Huge *** very durable switch that I bet you could use to stop bullets or nuclear blasts. Made it harder to install, but is VERY durable. Broke my little girl mccord switch in one day...he gets the switches at radio shack so its not really his fault...or is it.
The best part of the Qtec is that it SEALS, no leaks, I can get down there near the cutout when its closed and not even get the slightest buzz. All in all I am very happy with the qtec, only time will tell how long it lasts. I have some videos of it in use if anyone wants to host them for me.
Hope this helps someone make the right purchase from the beginning.
Have a good one

Moreover, and probably more importatnly to some, Barry's customer service is BAR NONE the best in the buinsess. Not only for this product, but for others, Quicktime Performance knows how to take care of its customers, and has some VERY agressive pricing. I haven't done anything with them yet to date that hasn't impressed me.

Emails get answered in 5-10 minutes not 5-10 days like some other "businesses" around here. I was told realistic shipping times, and the product came on that date. period. No bullshit with Barry. Ordered a 12 bolt from him and his price was the best I have seen on the net by far - even rivals most of the GP prices I have seen. Have yet to have an experience with quicktime that has been anything but beyond excellent. Keep up the good work.
Btw ill be sending the video to Barry soon and he should have it up in a while on his site.
Post a link when its up

I couldn't agree more. The QTEC is by far the most impressive power cutout plate to be produced to date. The piece is solid, and well thought out down to every detail. Switches, connections, motor size and strength, the thickness and strength of the plate, EVERYTHING.

The Best V8 Stories One Small Block at Time
Cool, I can't wait to get a 3.5" QTEC on my car for the priceless looks I'll receive when I flip the OPEN switch at a redlight when someone is trying to mess around with my stock looking and very quiet (SLP dual-dual) Formula
Tony

I know what you mean I've had a few people back out of races because of the sudden change in sound coming from the car. That's coming from SLP Dual/Dual to Macs and ORP, I can't imagine what a 434 ci motor will do to those unsuspecting would be challengers
Barry's customer service is top-notch and the QTEC is an awesome piece. I've had this thing since March and still no problems, although it hasn't been used to stop bullets yet .
From what I understand, the current version has a much more powerful motor, and will snap open and closed about as quick as the QTEC. The piece has some other issues, but this is one that has been resolved.
Cut Out position advice
Well, I suggest you position it so that the cutout follows the same line as the intermediate pipe, right as the I-pipe swoops upwards to make its run over the axle... this gives you straight flow AND basically eliminates the raspy sound many of us find in these cars... purely by mistake, we have found that if you dump the exhaust BEFORE the axle bend, the raspy sound that LS1's are known for basically disappears. Just my $.02. I had a "Zed Style" cutout right before the muffler on the back of the car before, but that one is now permanatnly capped and I have one in the location I just described and am RASP FREE! (BTW, I have Mac's, and no Cats.)
I've had it for less than a month and it great!
I believe I have the latest version..
Speed..Opens in less than 5 seconds..
I havent worried about over torquing it.. I believe this is fixed...(But I also dont hang on the switch for a long time for no apparent reason.. )
The switch..Ya its small..I like it that way.. I dont want a big azz frankenstien rocker switch glowing bright enough to read GMHTP comfortably.. )
Fit..seals up great..use a decent gasket..Keith even fab'd my plate body without the recessed grind for the bolts. My bolts were long enough.. Great service when it comes to fabbing the body the way you want it.
No problems so far..I've flipped it many times..
I posted a writeup on the install...
