Mac Header Collector Noise....

Mac Header Collector Noise.... Those who have Macs, can you hear the driver's side collector through the floorboard? I did check the ball flange connections to make sure they were set right and every thing is tight. BTW, I do have the Mac y-pipe with RT cats.

Re: Mac Header Collector Noise.... The collector is too small that fits into the Catback, thats probably what you hear and smell. We put a Band Clamp over that connection and it got rid of the leaks and exhaust noise.

Re: Mac Header Collector Noise.... You lost me....the collector and y-pipe are both 2.5 in. They fit up well together and do not leak (I used a breaker bar and grade 8 bolts). I had a exhaust shop check w/ a listening device. There is no smell either...I do know that smell because I had a flange leak with my Hooker shorties that I replaced.
I noticed the collector noise after I adjusted the driver's side of the y-pipe for add'l clearance. When I did that, the alignment of the collector and y-pipe is at a slight angle. I may have caused an increased resonance from this change? Dunno. It was not a big change though.
