<3500rpm torque does decrease with less backpressure.

If peak tq and peak hp is what you're focused on then by all means run open headers.

Right now my car is a street/strip car...It's a mid to high 7 car now...If I put some mufflers on my car then it will hurt me on the strip.

Backpressure may be being confused with tube resonance...

torque goes up at the resonant frequencies (where the resonance helps pull the exhaust pulses), and goes down elsewhere.
