kind of fitting you had in mind with a backing
nut on the inside. Looks like the stock ports
are just press fit. Might have enough meat to
just drill & tap, with some Loctite to keep it.
You ought to be able to MIG or TIG up a bung to
the casting, I would be wary of warpage though;
probably would want to do this while bolted to
a dummy head.
I wouldn't put the port at either end; pooling
/ sloshing at the front on braking, rear on
acceleration. Somewhere at the center top would
seem to be best. Looks like mine has bungs at
both ends. Front runs to the TB and back runs
around & gets lost somewhere.
That oil filler neck sure looks like a handy,
high point. And fat, so you'd have less air
velocity to pull droplets up it.
