Default Think i messed the threads on my passenget side head!

ok about 2 weeks ago i did my pacesetter install i just havent gotton around to posting about this till now lol

anyway all the bolts went in smooth but 1 the rear passenger bolt, it seemed to thread in decently smooth and with the tiny wrench we used it threaded in about half way no issues but afte that it got really hard suddenly and when i look in from the top the bolt looks as if it was goin in crooked, so we backed it out and tried again and again went in easy but at that point looked croked and got realy hard too turn.

in the end we just put about 5 washers on it to take up the space and only threaded it in 3/4 of the way. im guessing the threads got crossed, damn aluminum so easy to mess up, any sugestions on how to fix it or somehtin, anyone have a similar problem. its on ok i supose but it just bothers my mind when somethins not in correctly and i know it.

You could take a tap and try to (carefuly) clean up the threads. If it's realy bad you could drill out and put in a hilicoil.

Like conan said if you can fit back there well enough to use a tap i'd definately recommend doing that to chase the threads first. Happened to me a few days ago when I installed my headers, the tap worked really well. I almost **** myself thinking about pulling the heads lol

Well, funny thing, i broke off a rocker bolt inside the head while doing a spring swap!!

I did everything possible until there was no other thing left to do and take the head off.

LEt me tell you, this was done with no help, for the first time and it wasn't that bad. Wait, hold a sec, IT SUCKED!!!!! but not that bad, really, had to finally take it off twice to get it all doen right!!!

Now, when i was installing my headers again, i noticed that i did the same thing. Rear most bolt, crocked. I tried and tried but it still went in sideways (WOW!!)

So i took of the header, screwed in the bolts ALITTLE one by one hand, jsut a bit. Did the middle halfway, than the outside halfway. 3/4 inside, 3/4outside...than finished her off.

With this, the rear bolt went in straight and with no issues...well, just the fact that there was or is NO FREAKING ROOM BACK THERE, pass side, with that dam evaporator unit!!!!
