Default O-ring on throttle body missing, revving high!?

Took my throttle body apart and when I was pulling the throttle shaft out and a Metal o-ring flew off. I didnt see where it came from and didnt know where to put it back. I re-assembled the throttle body without it to see what would happen and it revs extremely high! Where does the o-ring go! Pics would be great.

Probably goes in the IAC hole at the very top on the right. Its the thing with the little rubber plunger on the end. I left mine out one time and my idle was going nuts. Is it about the size of a quarter/nickel?

No thats not it. Its not a rubber o-ring, its a metal o-ring or washer. Either came from the TPS sensor or the left side of the tb.

All that o ring does is hold the throttle shaft in place. Its probly not that causing your issue... Anyway after you put the throttle shaft back in put the o ring on the end of the throttle shaft where the tps goes and tap the oring down to the base of the shaft with a socket and a hammer. Put the tps back on and you should be set...

^^^^ You don't even have to put that washer back on. I think Bo White always left that washer off after he ported throttle bodies.

There's some sort of vaccuum leak somewhere. Check the seal between intake/tb, maybe IAC plunger? All vaccuum connections to tb tight?

So I checked the seal around the tb and its pretty tight. I did however put my finger over the stick drilled hole in the tb plate and the car calmed down alot which leads me to believe it is a vacuum leak. But the damn car is so loud with the td's that I couldnt hear a leak if i had perfect hearing. Any suggestions?

I'm assuming since you had the butterfly shaft out that you ported your tb? Did you make sure not to get too close to where the butterfly seals against the tb housing? Guess I'd just double check all fittings to the tb and make sure they're tight?
I hear ya on the loud exhaust deal. Grab some fuel line and use it like a stethescope (sp?) to see if you can hear any leaks.
