Default header sizes eplained?

I need to know what the 1 7/8th header length means, as well as the 1 3/4

I admit I have no clue what those dimensions are for. Any assistance in teh matter would be appreciated. Also, what size would I go for, considering this would be a street only vehicle?

that is the tube that comes out the side of the flange thats bolted to the head. its hte diameter of the tubing. called the "primary" tube

the "collector" size is usually 3" and is the tube where all the 4 tubes come together into one big "Collector tube.

Size of the primary. (The part that comes off of the flange that connects to the head)

I think you'd be fine with QTP 1 3/4 HVMC headers.

Get 1 3/4 .The 1 7/8 are for bigger cube motor and you will lose low end tq on stock size. There are a lot of good headers out there. Pick depending on the $ you want to spend. If the car is lowered stay away from SLP they hang low and will drag the ground. Cats are no cats is your choice.I got cats because cops love to pull my loud car over lol!

Well, thanks a lot!

I think I will be going with Edelbrock headers cause they are cheaper than pacesetters even, and are a really nice looking. As well, I will get the accompanied Y-pipe, finally through magnaflow exhaust.. catless
