Re: A look at the Grot Y-Pipe The pipe dosen't look as bad as I imagined. The collecter sure does suck. I've heard some people have to hammer on it to make it clear the tunnel brace. did you have any problems with it? Thanks for the pics!

Re: A look at the Grot Y-Pipe That was my first thought. I've heard the tunel brace is also there to stiffen the car. I don't want to take a chance on loseing any stiffnes in the chasis.

Re: A look at the Grot Y-Pipe I took my tunnel brace off. I have been meaning to replace it w/a reinforced one along w/ a loop but things seem to be left behind...BAD! That is my safety. Maybe i'll look into soon! <img border="0" title="" alt="[Smile]" src="gr_stretch.gif" />
Those are my pics. Like i stated before it's not THAT bad but the collector does suck. BTWi painted the Y-pipe w/ silver exhaust paint. The Y-pipe is NOT coated <img border="0" title="" alt="[Sad]" src="gr_sad.gif" />
I presonally like the fact that it is a two piece design which alows the fitment to be adjusted a little better for each car.
**EDIT** Just wanted to add, that is MY hand in there!! wahhooo i am famous!

Re: A look at the Grot Y-Pipe The design can't be too restrictive as I only made 402 rwhp on stock heads through that thing <img border="0" title="" alt="[Wink]" src="gr_images/icons/wink.gif" /> With a tiny B1 cam and stock tuning no less...

Re: A look at the Grot Y-Pipe I wouldn't be afraid to take the stock tunnel brace off. It's pretty flimsy. But keep that space open. Lots of aftermarket torque arms mount there. My Spohn mounts to a very heavy duty brace that bolts to the stock location.
