If anyone has dropped their tank to replace their fuel pump, I would appreciate their help. I had to drop my tank, and replace the pump, and then I put it back in place and tightened up the straps. The question I have, is how did you guys route all the plastic fuel lines that are up there? I recall them being above the tank when I dropped it, but now when I tighten everything back up, they seem to get pinched above the tank. Is this correct? Is there a special area up there that they run through? The car runs fine and everything seems OK, it just doesn't seem right that they get pinched in there a bit. Let me know what you think.

They really arent "pinched" They are hard palstic so it wont hurt. Ive had my tank out quite a few times. they just sit up there. If its runnin fine, dont worry about it

Email Harlan (moderator "y2khawk") in the Turbo forum. He replaced his stock tank with a metal '98 so he could modify it.
I'll see if I can find some pics he posted one time.

Tim
Two of the hard lines from the top of the sending unit are short and point at the back seat area, the other 2 should be longer and bend around toward the driver side of the car.
The plastic lines should all follow along the top of the tank on the driver side near the front edge after leaving the pump/hanger connections. There's a recess in the tank for the lines to have room.
you can see the recess on the bottom right of this pic

Hey, look at the nice pic and description I found.^^^^^^^^
Funny gas tank story (to me at least). Coworker had his fuel pump replaced on his Furd Exploder. He drove it around a couple days, then stopped to get gas with the wife and 3 kids on board, on his way to work on top of that.
Sticks the nozzle in and starts pumping and feels something cold and wet on his pants leg and shoe. Mechanic forgot that one little part about reattaching the neck to the fill hole.

You guys are awesome. Harlan, thanks for the picture. I think everything is OK with the way I have mine in there, but I am gonna run the gas down and take another look at things. Thankfully I have a stainless exhaust so the muffler is easy to get out. I have this tank dropping thing down to about half an hour now....
Thanks a lot for all your help!!!
