Space between header,cat,and muffler?

Space between header,cat,and muffler? I'm going with true duals. I'll have turn downs before the axle.
Is it bad to have cats and muffler close together? Is it going to make a differance if there 2" or 20" apart?
So far this is the plan. RandamTech cats on the Headers. SpinTech mufflers about a 1.5ft. from the cats. Then 3.5- 4ft. of 3" oval pipe with turn downs.
It's going to be sweet! The mufflers are used in Nascar. They're just over 2" high. The oval pipes are 2" high and 4" wide. Yeeeaa <img border="0" alt="[Fluffy]" title="" src="graemlins/fluffy.gif" />

Let me refrase.
I have Grotyohanns. I've got some 3" Radom Tech cats comming. The cats are going to be on the header.
What If I only had 6" between the Cat and muffler?
Just enough room to have a H pipe. Header, Cat, Muffler; As close as I can get them together. Do you think that would be a bad Idea? Why?
