SAND IN RADIATOR?

SAND IN RADIATOR? i checked my coolant overflow tank for the first time the other day. the stick had no coolant on it, the car was cool though. there appeared to be some sort of dirt or sand on the stick. i washed it off, added coolant, and didn't think too much about it. checked again yesterday, same stuff on the stick! car has 25k miles, no overheating according to stock gauge. what is it?

Re: SAND IN RADIATOR? Yes ,I agree some kind of sand is used when casting the engine block.GM is notorius for leaving this crap in there.If it bothers you,just flush the radiator. <img border="0" title="" alt="[Eek!]" src="gr_eek2.gif" />
