I accidentally goofed..I was trail fitting my new air flow bellows and unplugged all my maf and iat connectors and when I put things back together I reversed the connector from car to maf translator..I had the one right from translator to maf.The car was running weird..bogging and idle was bad and felt slow and I checked my codes and had a PO102..maf low frequency..I went under the hood and quickly found the problem and erased codes and car seems to be fine..will a car run with a damaged maf..what symptoms will it have..
what does a car run like if you disconnect the maf completely..I think my car went into limp home mode or something maybe with that P0102.
The instructions from my maf translator say the maf will be damaged if you reverse the connections but maybe they mean between the translator and maf not between the car and maf translator if the translator to maf is still right.I hope I didn't cook my gms maf..its always worked fine for me and it wasn't cheap.Anyway to test maf operation with autotap or scanmaster..
I read you can do a digital voltmeter test but my new pricey meter won't test newer high frequency type mafs..

you can monitor maf freq and flow easy enough with any diag scanner.

I accidentally reversed the MAFT to MAF connector on my ZR2 once <img border="0" title="" alt="[Embarrassed]" src="gr_emb.gif" /> Truck seemed to run fine, but I got a P0101 code and discovered the problem. No MAF problems and its still doing well about 10,000 miles later.
