Default LS1 experts...please help!!!!!!

ok...I have been posting for this problem for a while. this problem i driving me crazy. I am just about ready to sell this damn car. Here is when it all started. About a month ago I decided to gut my cats. After I did the car was running really rich and it had a low rpm miss or studder. I posted here for this and someone told if i ported my my MAF it will lien it out...well I did. And that took away the low rpm miss and the balck smoke from it running rich. But then a new problem. The car then surged and misfired all the time. It gets worse the more the car runs and warms up. I replaced the ported maf with a stock one and still no help. i have changed the fuel filter, air filter, took the injectors out and cleaned them. I have had the hooked to the tech II and from my tech says everything is fine other than the misfire code it is throwing.. The iac counts are fine which he said means there are no vacuum leaks. The o2 readings also were fine. I am lost and the dealer cannot fgure it out either. Somebody please help!!! I am dying to take this thing to the track and cannot. I will be happy to any suggestions anybody has to thro at me because i am out of ideas!!! <img border="0" title="" alt="[Mad]" src="gr_images/icons/mad.gif" />

did you screw up any of the wires (sensors) on the maf when you ported it? Have you checked your plug wires?

As far as the maf goes...i took the ported one off...i just got a brand new one...and still it is misfiring. I checked the plug wires and they are fine. I am not sure if the misfires on on the same cylinder...the tech at the dealer did not tell me.

by no means an expert...

Need to find someone to run AutoTap and get more info, because I don't think there enough info to figure this out yet.

I think I'd check all the connections for all the sensors. Check the MAF and make sure none of the fine wires in it are broke. Do not assue just because it's a new MAF that it has got a broken wire. Check all the connections like the MAF, crank sensor etc. Also check the MAF fuse see this thread for details

https://ls1tech.com/ubb/ultimatebb.p...;f=24;t=002223

Did the O2's come out of the car at any point? I think the front and rear o2's are the same (see if someone can confirm) try switching the rear ones to the front and visa versa. Running rich might have fouled the front ones up in someway. Might also try cleaning the o2's with brake fluid if all else fails.

Good Luck

Try new O2 sensors. Running rich may have fouled them. I wouldnt recommend cleaning them. I dont think it would work. I dont know if the front and rear O2 sensors are the same though. You may or may not know this but.. when installing/ handling O2 sensors, dont touch the tip (the part that goes into the exhaust pipe). Oil from your hands or any other contaminants can foul them.
