Default GODD@MN Grot headers

My infamous grotyohann header's (passenger header) air tube broke off completely. I had to pull off the header and let me tell that WAS NOT fun without a lift. I think I spent more time trying to remove the coil packs(couldn't get the last stud(last on in the back) out. I don't think I will be putting that last on back in Installing full length headers without a lift is nuts. MUCH MUCH easier with the lift I had the first time. Just curious if the header will slide back in from the top. I don't have an air pump anymore or EGR, and coil packs are removed, as well as spark plug wires. The air tube broke off about a 1/2 inch from the header tube. Should I have the tube welded back on or welded shut? I don't want to have to do this again, will it break again? Also are the Grots stainless steel or not?

That's some bad news, I can't answer many of your questions but here's a few. I can't see how you can install long tube headers from the top, that last stud on the coil pack doesn't need to be reinstalled. I'd have the air tube welded back on, the welding shop will be able to tell if there stainless or not. Good luck.

No need to reinstall that rear coilpack stud. Also, connect the #8 plug wire to the coil pack while you slide it over the valvecover before you bolt everything down, makes things a little easier The weld must be a tig, I just used filler rod that I had laying around at school.

What do you mean leave the piece on the hose? If I weld the hole shut then there will be no air pump hose(tube). My PCM was re-tuned to have the code removed for the EGR and AIR pump. If it gets welded shut there would be a stub about a 1/2 inch long of the header tube and thats it. I am thinking this pipe breaks off because it can vibrate too much without the air pump there. If I had the pipe welded back on and then fabricated a bracket to bolt onto the block-off plate, that, connected to say an empty tapped hole or a stud on the engine it should be ok, right?
