REDLINE ON LS1?
I'd be leary going over 6200 RPM.... the valve springs arent designed to go past that area and you may have valve float
I revved to 6600 before I knew anything about our cars... and I got lucky no damage (that I know of... I really should do a leak down and compression test)

It's been like that for over a year.... BTW: How did you go over 6200? tuning?
You will gain nothing or very little by going beyond the 6150 on a stock motor. Most of the power bands on our cars are in the 5700-5900 rpm range.
This is a different story if you have put in a cam or different heads. I have seen some crazy numbers than.
Good luck guys.

On a stock car, moving the rev-limiter up is a waste of time, and is inviting disaster.
It is pointless to run a stock cammed LS1 above 6000 rpm.
These aren't 5.0 engines....
You are losing power in that range.

Have you put your car on a dyno? .. The only thing that keeps may car from pulling is the limiter, goes to about 314 rwhp at throttle tip in and stays solidly there till it hits the limiter (6600). If I wasn't afraid of the valvetrain I would turn it to 7000.

John,
Many, many times on the dyno. If your car pulls to the limiter than its obviously your converter helping you out. My M6 peaks horsepower *right at* 5550 rpm. After that it starts dying.
A stock cammed/converted A4 F-body won't gain hp over 5800 rpm trust me
