THERMOSTAT INSTALL PROBLEMS i put in a 160* thermostat yesterday using the document from install university. i removed the tb hose (i have the tbb) and SLOWLY filled the radiator. it took about 1.5 gal. of 50/50 before coolant ran out of the outlet on the intake manifold, not the hose. i re-connected the hose, and started the car with the radiator cap off. the thermostat opened twice then coolant started bubbling out. it wasn't stopping so i shut the car off. i drove the car lightly for 20 miles, it didn't overheat. i'm worried about air in the system. do i need to drain the system all over again? will the air bleed out in three heat cycles?

Re: THERMOSTAT INSTALL PROBLEMS went for 2nd heat cycle. radiator full. started car with radiator cap off, ran for about 5 min., no coolant running out of radiator, although it was bubbling a little. turned heater on for 5 min. went for a drive with a/c on, no overheating.

Re: THERMOSTAT INSTALL PROBLEMS anybody else? i really don't want to drain the radiator again if i don't have to. i've been starting the car with the radiator cap off, turning the heat on full blast and letting it idle for 10 min. i haven't had to add any coolant yet. it hasn't overflowed, but it got pretty close when i turned the heat off. plus the a/c accumulator had codensation all over it? i'm thinking about wedging a screwdriver in the tb hose where it connects to the intake tube. tia for any replies.
