A torque converter, of course. <img border="0" title="" alt="[Big Grin]" src="gr_grin.gif" />

You can use the search feature to search the site and get answers to most questions, as this question is asked almost daily.

For an auto the best bang for the buck is a torque converter, .5+ off the 1/4 mile with some better tires on the back. After that headers, intake, exhaust. Since your in Tx, check out MTI, a sponsor here, and see what they think. They put together some pretty good heads/cam packages if you have some $ sitting around. Good luck with your mods.

Most definitely a torque converter. I went the cheaper route though. See my sig for details. Intake and exhaust are good places to start with f-bodies since they don't breathe well stock. You won't see the gains with intake/exhaust like you will with a TC.

Having just installed my converter (no track results yet), I too think I would do that first if starting over again. Big difference in power to the ground. Simpler and a bit cheaper a piece at a time would be intake pieces, a lid and cold air (free or otherwise) being the biggest gain for the least effort.

I forgot to ask what year your SS is. If it's '98-'00 the very first thing I'd do is descreen that damned MAF.

I'm on my 9th one in an LS1 (4 Vig and 5 Yanks), so I can help ya out. <img border="0" title="" alt="[Smile]" src="gr_stretch.gif" />

I went the intake route and i'm getting a new exhaust. The way i see it, the more mods the better, so jsut dive right in and do as much as you can. but don't do everytrhing at once cus you might run out of things to do.

oh and intake and exhaust make your car sound kickass if that's what you're after. Especially a lid with a K&N...
