Default drag radials..which do i get?

I had this posted in "handling" and got no response so I thought I would try here.
I am about to get some drag radials for the rear of my WS6 with the 17 x 9 ..what should I get...Nitto or BF Goodrich? and what size? 315/35/R17 or 275/40/R17 will I have any rubbing issues with either size? I would rather get the BF Goodrich Comp T/A drag radials only because I can get them through SAM'S Club and use my in-store credit card so its easier on the wallet but if they truly suck or something I would go with the nitto's ..should I just do the rear or do all 4..my concern with only doing the rear is that it won't ride the same with the stock F1's on the front and the nitto or bfg comp t/a's on the rear
thanks

BFG's are excellent sticky tires but they dont last long at all.

Nittos hook real well also but they actually last a little longer.

Since you have a wallet problem like me I would go Nittos. I went BFG and maybe got 4000 miles out of them.

Later, Stu

I second Stu's response. If you worried about your pocket, don't go with BFG's. Nitto recently came out with the 315's, i'd go with those. I had BFG's on my WS6 17x9 rims and had no problems other than the quick wear. Don't worry about having F1's on the front either, that setup was perfect on mine. I have a sam's card too, but I didn't know you could get DR's from them. Looking like I am going to Sam's.

what do the #'s represent, the guy at SAMS told me but i forgot...the 315 means its wider? and the middle # is the height/thikness of the "wall" of the tire? so if I have this right the 315/35 is wider and a lower profile than the 275/45?
so no rubbing issues it looks like. I will probably just go with the BF Goodrich on my SAMS card and get the nitto's next summer when I have some cash.

On a stock WS6 wheel.. I would go with a 275/40 17 Nitto. The 315's will be too big and can have a ill effect on the handling.

If you really want a 315.. do something simular to my setup.. 17x11 AFS ZR1's.

Remember, BF Comp TA HR is not BF Comp TA DR, last time I checked, you don't get the later in the SAM's club

I've had 3 pairs of 16in nittos and 1 pair of 16in BFGs. The BFGs absolutely kill the nittos in the traction dept., whether they are hot or cold. I will never buy another nitto as long as the BFGs are being made.

I went Nitto's (315 on 11 inch wheels)for the all around performance.Don't like the idea of BFG's in the rain.Haven't tested them at the track yet,but I pull 1.90's on the stock tires in a 3800 lb car.
If you want all out get ET streets.

Rain is not an issue here-- I only drive my TA on sunny days.
I went to Sam's Club today...they had written out the order for the tires, but called just to make sure-- turns out they're not available. I don't know if that's just at Sam's or everywhere. They didn't stop making the BFG DR's did they?? So I guess I'll have to go somewhere else and get Nittos.

Of course they don't have the DR's on the show floor, but they have them in their catalog since they are a BF Goodrich dealer. They'll take two weeks to get to me.

I have been reading that the nittos don't seem to work that well on m6 cars..better on autos..what is best 60ft anyone has got on nittos and m6 and was that a 16 or 17 size.I plan on et streets I think..pretty much give up on getting much better than a 2.24 on street tires in my car.Prepped track would be a different story.I wouldn't drive around with the et streets so they should last about how many runs at the track.???.would only go once or twice a year to track maximimum..
Also keep hearing good things about those hoosier tires.think called quick time pro..what times with those guys???

they didnt stop making the bfg drag radial. The bfg is more geared for max traction with a radial, so theyre soft, so they wear out faster. the nitto is not as soft as a bfg but not quite has hard as a regular performance radial. the nittos are still going to wear out faster than a f1 or something like that. nittos are designed more towards the street, where bfgs are designed to fit the rules for some racing classes. the longest ive seen a nitto last was about 12k, the bfg was about 4.5k(takin it easy). some of the bfgs have different tread depths too. About the size, the 315 is the width in millimeters from sidewall to sidewall when the tire is infated on the rim with no load, the 45 is the sidewall height in a percentage of the 315. so the sidewall would be about 141.75 mm. there should be a website for nitto that has all the specs, same for the bfg.
