BANGING BANGING BANGING!!! i am sick of this. everytime i do a burnout or i rip it in second gear something is banging. i can see marks on my headers on the driverside. i know it is not my ypipe. my whole center console like moves when i do a burn out or i slam it into second gear. so i went to speed inc. they said it was my torque arm that was cracked then i replaced that. and then it still banged. then i got torque straps it helped a little but it still bangs. i do not know what it is. could it be my trans mount??? because it seems like it is my trans hitting and moving my center console. should i replace my trans mount with a poly urethane one? i am so confused any one else have this problem. it just wont stop. and when it bangs it is causing knock retard and i am losing hp! any ideas or thoughts thanks!

Re: BANGING BANGING BANGING!!! Are you sure that it is not wheel hop. My wheels dont hop in a forward burnout, but a burn out in reverse wants to shake the car to peices, and the way that you described it it sounds like my experience with wheel hop.

Re: BANGING BANGING BANGING!!! If you've replaced your tranny mounts, then I'd look at your motor mounts. I drove for a while with a broken one, and you don't notice it until the WOT runs.

Re: BANGING BANGING BANGING!!! if it is my trans mount what kind should i go with? i have heard poly urethane ones shake the car a little or rattle. and if it is my motor mounts what kid do i go with. i have heard solid motor mounts cause the car to shake alot. thanks

Re: BANGING BANGING BANGING!!! If it's the mount replace it with a 1LE mount. They are stronger than the regular replacement. <img border="0" alt="[cheers]" title="" src="graemlins/gr_cheers.gif" />
Re: BANGING BANGING BANGING!!! If you are M6, and the tranny makes noise on 1-2 shift, and the shifter visibly lifts up, then the tranny mount might be tearing apart.

Re: BANGING BANGING BANGING!!! I FIXED IT!!!! FINALLY. GOOOOOD. IT WAS A TRANS MOUNT! I BOUGHT A POLY URETHANE ONE. I WAS SO HAPPY WHEN I DID A BURNOUT AND IT DID NOT BANG!!! AND WHEN I HIT IT HARD INTO SECOND IT DIDNT BANG! I AM SO HAPPY AND IT WAS REALLY EASY TO INSTALL ME AND MY BUDDY DID IT! IT HAS BEEN LIKE THIS FOR SO LONG!!! I AM SO HAPPY. HOW MUCH COULD I LOSE BY THIS HITTING. BY HORSEPOWER WISE. I WANT TO KNOW IF IT CAUSES KNOCK RETARD. IT FEELS LIKE IT PULLS MORE AT HIGH RPMS. AFTER THE SHIFT. THANKS.
