Default Intake Questions

I'm thinking of the Granatelli 73mm Mass Airflow Sensor, SLP Smooth High Flow Bellows Kit, and BBK 80MM throttle body.

How are these? recommended? Will I need anything else to support these mods?

How about high flow maf ends?

How about these alternatives? What do you guys think about them?

85mm ZO6 MAF conversion
SLP high flow maf

Thanks guys!!

The only thing on there I would personally do would be the bellows. I'm not a big fan of the BBK TB, you don't really need one unless your running Heads/Cam. If your set on getting a new TB, take a look at the Shaner S2(search for it), I've heard alot of good things about it. Also look at the MTI or TR ported TB. Even then you'll only see about 5-10 hp(which is still worthwile). As for the granatelli MAF, I don't think it is worth it to change your MAF. Just descreen your stock one, change the ends if you want, but leave the stock sensor alone. You gain virtually nothing from changing it anyway.

I've heard that descreening the stock maf throws Check Engine lights and is better to just get an upgraded one. Maybe a Z06 one?

Does changing the ends help? I haven't checked yet, but are they that restrictive?

Thanks!!

I'd go Stealth Lid, Pace Pontiac 85 mm calibrated MAF, ported and polished TB.

BoOoost,

I've got a GMS MAF sittin right behind me I'd sell you cheap if you want to try it out. It was only on the car about 1 week, I'd let it go for$175.00+ shipping. Let me know if you want it,

Mark

Maf ends without the Granatelli sensor...or custom tunning will throw your a/f ratio off. I put the MAF ends on my car and it ran horribly rich(black smoke) until i leaned it out with edit. Not sure if anyone else had this problem but check into it.

boOoost,

I still have the GMS MAF if your interested. I would sell it because Ed Wright won't tune for that MAF, he will only tune for the SLP 85MM truck MAF. I didn't know that and had already bought the GMS MAF, you interested?

Thanks, but I'm ok for now... I'm just going to hack my stocker, and see what happens...
