MAC headers?

MAC headers? i was thinking about getting hooker headers but then saw these MAC TrueFit 1-3/4 Headers w/ Y-Pipe with cats. These are significantly cheaper and are the whole kit. can you tell me the better buy and if these MAC;s are good, how good they are... such as HP gains and TQ gains as well. thanks alot
Re: MAC headers? I have the Mac headers. You will have to remove the collector that comes with the Mac as it is small in order to fit the factory size pipe. Also you should grind away the excess weld build up in each head port and both collectors for max flow.
I haven't seen the Hooker long tube headers and I don't know what their collector looks like but I have seen many Hooker headers for other cars and they are excellent quality. I had Hooker on my 347 Mustang and they required very little mofifying as compared to the Mac on my Camaro. Just get them coated to prevent rust. The Mac comes coated but the coating does not hold up long. I would recommend getting them recoated before you install them if this is a street car.
I have seen the Hooker shortie headers. I wouldn't consider them at all.
