Default Which Air lid is easiest to install uninstall?

Hi I'm about to puchase a lid for my 99 T/A and I am trying to decide which one to buy. I herd some lids you have to "cut" some pieces of your stock parts , Is this true? I'm also planning on takeing off and on several time for trip to dealer so was looking for easiest model out there for ease of installing and uninstalling. Any comments would be greatly appreciated Thanks!

I've played with Whispers and Direct Flows. The DF fit better, and was easier to install, but neither was really hard. The Whisper instructions were caca though IMO.

I'd get the cheapest you can find.

Moving to the External Engine section...

They're all pretty easy, btw.

They are pretty much all the same. You may have to spend some extra time giggling on some to make them fit perfect but other than that just get the cheapest one you can find like mine for only 40 bucks shipped.

relly the wisper lid is relly crap my friend i put many on and thay are cheap i would say if i hade to do it all over again i would go with the ***Direct-Flo lid SL1 Motor Sport. im running the SLP LID and that's a nother good lid look's tuff and it fit's great.i had no problem's with putting that lid on good thing about it you can see it's not cheap like the wisper lid.

I have MTI's lid. I got it for $79 through a Group Purchase. It doesn't fit all that well, but for $79 I have no complaints. It does it's job well.

SLP is a very well made lid. Fit and finish and appearance are all very nice. Because as most people will tell you - they all pretty much flow the same - I would get the one that seems to be the sturdiest construction and best fit - SLP.

My opinion on quality of lids, I've had all of them except for the new stealth in my hands:

1. SLP Lid that is an option on production SS's
2. Whisper
3. MTI
4. Direct Flow
5. Stealth
6. SLP aftermarket lid

They are all made of plasitc, they all perform neary the same, the differences in construction differ VERY little. Choose which one you like best.. ethier based on price, looks (clear, carbon fiber etc..) or availability.

I agree with WILWAXU.

None of them are going to be too tough to install/remove..

I'm happy with my Direct-Flo.

Why not get the SLP OEM lid? Put it on once and you won't need to change back when you go to the dealer since it is an OEM part. It's also the best lid available.

WHERE CAN I GET THE SLP OEM LID? I HEARD ONLY SS AND FIREHAWK OWNERS CAN GET THEM.

ALSO HOW DOES THE STEALTH LID COMPARE TO THE SLP OEM?
