Default SLP MAF Sensor

I have a 99 TA with no mods yet. I am wondering if a MAF sensor would make any difference for me, i.e. hurt the performance or help it? I am looking at buying an SLP. Is this a good one one or are there any suggestions for a better brand?

Thanks

I've got one, didn't pick up anything over a ported stock sensor. Think I wasted some money. Back to back swaps at the strip shows zilch. Maybe better than stock, dunno. Did not test against stock cause I didn't have one. If I could do it again, I think I would try one of the Pace units. Who knows, maybe my car really liked the factory mass air ported. <img border="0" title="" alt="[Confused]" src="images/icons/confused.gif" />

Ironically I go by Spydum, and I also have a 99 Trans-Am.. I purchased the SLP MAF and found it to do absolutely nothing for me. In my opinion, the stock MAF flows well enough for almost any application for LS1 using stock internals. I think the 85mm MAF is pointless when your just bottlenecking the airflow at the throttle body anyways! Unless you've done heavy modifications, I would advice not replacing the TB or MAF until you break 400rwhp.
