BTW... is there any way I might be able to get the 4" hoses in front of the SLPRA unit on the underside of the airbox then seal all of that up? Is it worth a try?

No, you cant run both a FTRA or SLP-RA along with this setup. Look at the pics of where I have the 2 hoses coming through. This is right where the SLP-RA would be. I dont think this will work with the stock air box because of size limitations. You're simply running out of width!

BUT! Have you seen the stealth air box and radiator support? That **** is big!! It might just be big enough to let you do both. Perhaps what you could do is route the Hoses on the outside of a custom ram air set-up that mimics the FTRA. Maybe you could use 3" hoses because of size limitations, and then make a custom FTRA-like setup to squeeze in the middle.

Sounds like a good idea, but alot of fab work too.[/QB]

Yea I see how where the tubes enter the airbox obstructs the SLPRA setup but it looks like they can be moved towards the front a bit more. Of course I would need a bird's eye pic to be sure. But I do believe you're right about the Stealth lid but I just can't bring myself to spend $300 on a larger lid for a stock motor, especialy when I already have a Whisper lid. Maybe when I go bigger cubes I will do the sealed Stealth lid/SLPRA/4"tubes setup. I think it would kick ***. Or maybe I'm just beatin the dead dog having all these different ram air setups together... LOL.

I'm just going to make my own FTRA style ram air again. I made one just like theirs and SLP's out of Al flashing but it got destroyed pretty bad when a rock hit it a while back. This one will be out of thicker stainless steel.

Mike,

Can you give me any further details on how you got the AC Condenser out of the way? or at least what specific modification you had to make to fit the 4in tubing under the Radiator support

I was thinking of doing this very same mod and thankfully someone directed me to your thread here..

Thanks!

We bent the upper mounting tabs to close the gap between the condensor and the radiator. Just the top though. I didnt want to ditch A/C.

On cars without A/C alot more room is to be had and they require less chassis modification.

After that we cut semicircles into the core support. The tubes come up between the (roughly) 2.5 inch gap and the core support. The rest of the room is had in cutting the semicircles in the core support.

If you could spread the shape of the ram air tube into more of a mouth and less of a circle you could probably minimize chassis modification.

Hope this helps

Mike,

If you should ever have another opportunity to take a picture of the Condenser Modification you made, I would love to see it.

Thanks!

I have the SLP cold air duct mod which works great. I can only imagine how much more air this setup pushes into the box!

Great JOB! ...If only you could market this mod people would be breaking down your door to buy it...
