Drain from Airconditioning Evaporator Coil

Drain from Airconditioning Evaporator Coil My car has just devloped the habit of leaking the condensate from the evaporator coil into the occupant compartment. This happened after I changed the manifold to the newer LS-6. I think the hose may be pinched or clogged. Does anyone know the location of the drain hose so I can locate it and fix the problem. There is nothing that I could find in the GM Manual for the car showing the drain, they just said to clean it.

Re: Drain from Airconditioning Evaporator Coil Jade, I wish I still had my SS so I could help but I would think it's about half way down on the firewall on the passengers side. It should be a black rubber hose, my cousins car ( rice ) had the same problem and he used a shopvac to suck out what ever was causing the problem.
Come on there's got to be someone out there that can help Jade out, good luck.

Re: Drain from Airconditioning Evaporator Coil Somebody's got to have a digital camera that can help these guys out, guys my best advice would be to get the car up on a hoist or ramps and look on the passenger side firewall. The hose should be about 5 to 6" long, that's the best I can do unfortunately. <img border="0" title="" alt="[Sad]" src="gr_sad.gif" />

I am going to try your sugestion with the shop vac. If I can get a pic, I will post it for all who have started to have the same problem.

Re: Drain from Airconditioning Evaporator Coil Try using a shop rag or something around the shopvac hose, that way it will suck whatevers in there out and hopefully that will take care of your problem. I'd take a picture of the hose on my Prowler but that won't help you, post that picture if you can and may the force be with you.

Re: Drain from Airconditioning Evaporator Coil I have a picture of the cuprit, the hole in the drain of the evaporator. It is on the passenger side of the car, in the engine compartment. It looks like there was a littel rubber plug that was stuck, probably lost its elasticity with age. Anyway.... I have the pic, but do not know how to post it here. If someone can tell me how to post the pic, or anyone interested, email me and I will send the pic to you showing what it looks like. Thanks to all for their help with this rascal. I was looking for a hose, but it is just an opening with a rubber plug.

As of yet no response, will you be able to post a picture of this canister? It's hard to believe GM uses some kind of canister instead of a drain hose, it's kind of funny why they would do that.
