Yeah a socket will get that off, the EGR shouldn't be a problem either you'll just get an SES light.

If you take off the AIR/EGR systems, there will be no need to remove the fuses as the PUMP will be gone. Kinda hard for the pump to kick on when it's sitting in your back yard!

Removing the EGR will get you an SES code, as will removing AIR, even if you leave the pump plugged in and able to run. It's got a back pressure sensor that tells the computer that the pump is still connected to the system.

The metal part left over sticking out of the block is the part that has the hex-head on it that the socket grabs. Only the top (plastic) piece breaks off.

Did you try a 28mm? Its something pretty big. If you have a set of sockets just go through them until one fits shouldn't be thet difficult unless you don't have anything that big. In that case I'd try a large pair of channel locks.

well, im an idiot, lol. I was trying to get the top metal part it self, now i see there is the hex part udner it, durk a dur! lol. well anyone, the highest i have in MM is 19 but the 1" wont fit and the 1 1/6" is too thick to fit in the space between the hex and the connector on left of it. So maybe i'll see if my dad has a 18mm at his office to try.

I wanna say its bigger than 19 but yeah you need to get at the hex underneath the plastic part and its metric. If your having trouble you can get the special socket at most auto parts stores.
