Default dynoed over 400+ RWH through Corsa

Well, to our amazement too! I dynoed an A4 Vig 3,600 stalled 33 splined 12 bolt diff through a closed Corsa exhaust (no cut-out) to the tune of 406/396 RWH/RWT. Impressive to say the least! but louder than the Borla open I think? . What do you guys think?
Joe.

Same here. The Corsa sounds really pissed off on my setup!

We will be looking for 11.3's or lower in good weather, and 11.5 or lower the rest of the year. If it crosses at 115 or 120 is irrelavant TO ME. I have no idea about the torque numbers.

I'm getting ready to do some home porting on my heads and the TR224 cam as well. I'm still undecided on the headers. I hear you only lose single digits with the Macs Vs. the Longtubes and they are also cheaper and have better ground clearance? Are LT's really worth it? Why did you guys switch from the LT's to the Macs anyway?
As far as the Corsa goes, I've had my eye on that exhaust since it came out. But I still haven't heard it. I'm considering doing a custom loudmouth exhaust except with a bullet in place of the resonator for about $200. It should sound really mean with the headers and cam. I know it will be loud and rumbly but maybe not race-car. Are you guys saying that the Corsa sounds $500 better than what the 'bulletmouth' will sound like? I want the exhaust to turn heads bcause it sounds good, not because it is loud. I want something that is distinguishable from the rest. Everyone around here has cutouts or the loudmouth and it could be a thirty year old truck for all you know until you see it..
BTW, what LSA did you go with on the TR 224?? TIA- Mike W.

If you are looking for a different sound then the Corsa is what you are looking for. It does cost a alot but it sounds mean, esp with headers.

Bear they must be locked numbers.
I've never seen a low tq number like that from an unlocked converter.

They are impressive numbers for your car
Good luck...

Long tubes and the Corsa will make the women and children run and hide. Inside the car it's never loud or obnoxious. Take the t-tops out and it's quite nice. Stand behind the car at WOT and you'll lose your hearing.

To give you an idea, my brother took a pretty poor camera to the 1/8th mile at the track. All you can hear is my car. It just drowns everything out. In reality it's very very loud behind the car. I have cats and no cutouts.

Here's the poor quality track video
The new idle sound after heads and cam install
Dyno pull at ARE (stock 3.42 gears so it takes a bit!)

I get asked in the pits all the time what is that exhaust, sounds sweet, awesome looking tips, etc. It is purely distinct from everything else that is around. I get nothing but compliments and some people are even in awe because it's fairly tame just loping in the staging lanes.

I think I'm one of the only ones on the west end of the state that even has this setup. And I haven't seen too many over in Detroit either (not saying they aren't around). Basically you're not going to find them everywhere. On the other hand SLP Dual/Dual, Loudmouth, etc. are all over the place and they all sound the same. Nice, but sounds the same none the less.

Just my $.02 worth, I love the sound.

Yup, We ditched the G5 and went to the TR 224, ditched the SLP LT's in exchange for Mac's, removed the 10 bolt and added a 33 spline 12 bolt rear and it made 32 more ft lbs of tq in the midrange and 22-24 more hp across the board, it needs a little more tuning 5,600 rpm and up, but I am very happy with the numbers to date. I just couldn't believe it dynoed so well for a GM approved cat back.

Taking all the unlocked A4 high stall, 12 bolt big spline axles into effect, I guess the point I was trying to make is that I think it can push nearly 430 RWH out of an M6 = unreal for that cat back, BUT, it is noisy as heck! it sounds like a serious race car on the street , personally, I would like it toned down a bit.

Js, there was something odd happening with his car on the dyno that day, we would bring it up to 4,200 rpm and whack it to the floor and start the dyno sampling, it would down shift to second gear, spike a high tq number, shift to third gear, level off then the pull was under way, so the TQ number that I used off the sheet was the leveled off one unless I sould have used the 540 RWT number that was a spike.

Why did you guys ditch the SLP longtubes for Macs?

Corsa has a neat sound but I can see it being loud w/o cats.

I can't speak for all Long Tubes but the SLP's really didn't do the package justice. When we switched over to the Macs we picked up 20 or so RWTQ. It was well worth it. I gained clearence and performance. The damm Mac rasp sucks though.
