Default QTP Header Question.

Hey guys i just ordered a set of QTP HVMC headers for my car from TR. i ordered the Race Style header because i was going to remove Air and EGR(got mY Ls6) so today the guy called me and said they where out of stock and for several weeks of the race style header, so he said it was koo if i get the emissions style header for a bit more price and just block the emssion things... he said that they had plates to block em is this true? he might of sent me the plates for the EGR for the ls1 intake huh. should i be OK with the emissions header even if im going to not have EGR and Air?
Thx Roy

yeah they sell plates to block off the emmisions fittings on the headers. u could buy them or make ur own out of some regular stainless steel sheet metal and just weld them on. i have been waiting for my headers for nearly two months! im pretty pissed about it, but yeah i keep getting the same story, how QTP is on backorder or whatnot. sure, ur gonna pay a bit more money for the block offs, but ull prob. have ur headers installed before me if u take that route. u wont need the blockoffs for ur ls6 intake so just let them know u need the blockoffs for the headers...its so hard to look at my shiny X pipe, shiny sweet thunders, and all the supporting hardware everyday and just sigh because my headers aren't here

If they can't fill the order they should give you the headers in stock with the block offs for the same price!

I'd wait (unless your car is out of commission or something). I'd rather have the clean look than have the block off plates...but that's just me.

Ive been waiting for my QTP's for a couple months aswell. They are supposed to ship at the end on this week though. We should all see our QTP's in 2-3 weeks.

Ive also been waiting for a set of these for about 2 months! And i ordered the ones with the AIR fittings. But i am supposed to see them within a few days so we'll see. I did get the headers with the AIR attatchments though because i decided that if for whatever reason i did decide to put the AIR system back on i could. The block off plates are very inexpensive and its only a little part sticking up on the header so its not going to be obvious or anything.

I guess it just depends if not having to wait if worth the extra money. I am waiting, but the shop I ordered them through says about a week till they should be in!

Some of you guys kill me with your QTP stories. One guy has been waiting one month and some have been waiting two months.

I have been waiting three months and there is still no light at the end of the tunnel. I ordered the thing in mid-January and they still have not been shipped. The date keeps getting later and later. At this point, I'm keeping my finger crossed for Christmas.

That's ridiculous. People are saying they have been waiting for months. Looks like TR is the place to buy from.

It all depends on when you order them compared to when the next batch of headers is going to be made. It is kind of like a group buy QTP waits for it to get full then makes them. If you were one of the last people to get in before the batch was started your wait won't be as long as someone who lest say just missed being in the current batch by a day or two. That person then has to wait for that batch to go out, then for people to fill up the next batch, the headers to be made and sent. So depending on your luck it might be quite a wait.

At least that's the way I understand it.

The wait is worth it. I love mine. The customer service is really good, too. They have treated me really well. I recommend them to anyone
