Default turn-downs or no?

I have the magnaflow cat-back now but dont really like the tips, i saw a ls1 formula the other day with its exhaust ending under the trans it looked like. i liked the look of no tips. could i just get piping to come out either side of the magnaflow muffler and point down? or would it be noticable and ugly?

I don't have any pics or a way to get them on here, but I have turn downs on my magnaflow. Love the look. I just cut the tips off and welded them on.

I didn't take any pics, but I had turndowns on my 4" Spintech that I had on my '02 Z. If done right they can look decent.

Mine are 3 inch. I just used the pipes the catback came with and used an expansion peice. Hard to explain. I changed alot on my catback so you can't hardly see the muffler much less the tips.
