Default Tell me what this is Please....

Had to replace a damn knock sensor on my 1998 Z28. While removing the intake manifold I somehow managed to break this badly located sensor. Yet I don't know what this sensor is, and my local dealership says it doesn't exist. I know someone here knows. Please help me out.

On the second picture it's the one on the left.

BTW Haynes manual's are worthless.

Yeah its the oil pressure switch, I broke mine as well its a common thing. The dealership will have it but you'll need to go to an auto parts store for the specific socket for it.

This is the biggest PITA. Haha. My cat was clogged......after that it all spiraled down from there. Decided hey why not do, knock sensor replace, !TB, !MAF, !EGR, !AIR, longtube headers, offroad y-pipe, drill mod, finish stage 2 of sound deadoning, and finish carpeting box. And I have 2 weeks to accomplish this with full-time school, part-time job......before I go under the knife for surgery. God I think I like stress.

If you have to take the intake off again do this. Start picking the intake straight up and reach back and feel for the sensor. While feeling for the sensor, pick your brake vacum hose up and over the sensor. The brake vacum hose is what breaks the sensor off because it is behind the sensor and when you pull the intake forward it will break it off.
