`02s screen or no screen in MAF I've seen lots of posts about descreening MAF sensor.I have a `02 1SC Z28...there is no screen.I bought this car brand new so I know it wasn't removed.I've seen other posts on this board that said their `02s had screens in the MAF sensor.Whats the deal???BTW,my car runs like a bat out of hell,seems way too fast for nearly stock. <img border="0" title="" alt="[Confused]" src="images/icons/confused.gif" />

Re: `02s screen or no screen in MAF My 02 came with a screen. I took mine out. Some how my MAF got messed up. When the factory replaced the MAF they noticed the screen was gone. They gave me alot of **** for taking it out. They said I was lucky I'm not paying for the new MAF.
As far as I know only 2002 Z06 have no screen. The Z06 MAF is also 85mm.

Re: `02s screen or no screen in MAF Only the '02 Z06 comes without a MAF screen! if your LS1 does not have one "someone" took it out. GM felt that due to the design of the air box assembly on the LS6 that it was not nesesscary to have the screen in the MAF. I know a lot of guys with '01 - '02's and they all have/had a screen in them! Even the '02 Corvettes have the screen.(except the Z06 of course!) <img border="0" alt="[Z06 Corvette]" title="" src="graemlins/z06.gif" />

The 1SC Package is obviously an option code. It iis the base model Z28. My 02' Z28 was a 1SC package. Came with hard top, power steering cooler, rear window defroster, monsoon stereo, tilt wheel, and I think that is about it. That is about as base as you can get. The 02's came standard with the power steering cooler, and the monsoon stereo. I dont know about the defroster or the tilt steering. The 1SD package is fully loaded. Power everything and all that mess. I don't the specific's.
Anyhow, my MAF had a screen also. I removed it and ported and polished my own MAF. Gotta love that Dremel! <img border="0" title="" alt="[Wink]" src="gr_images/icons/wink.gif" />
