Default oil cap elbow

Does anyone know how to get the elbbow that the oil cap screws into off the valve cover? I tried turning it, I tried pushing and turning, I tried everything I could think of. How the hell does it come off??

I believe the only thing holding it in place is a small clip. The easiest way to get to it is to remove the valve cover and then pry the clip with a small flathead screwdriver while twisting.
