too much!!!....i live in a small town in cali, and they wanted around 1000.00!!! its just too ridiculus... theses places over charge you. they told me it would take 10hrs to do a manifold...me and my buddies tried it and we did it in like 3 1/2.. so i guess me and my buddies are better than the ASE certified technicians........

$0....did 'em myself. $600.00 is a bit much. I've done 2 header installs. The 1st one was a piece of cake. The 2nd one was a no-good, rotten bich that fought me every inch of the way. After the 2nd time, if someone ever asked me to do a long-tube header install, I wouldn't touch it for under $200.00. And I want to meet the a$$hole GM engineer who designed the scalpel-sharp heat shields, and other sheet metal parts in the engine bay. My arms and hands looked like I wrestled a rabid wolverine when I was done.

$0, did it myself. Headers are very simple to do. Remove the coil packs and plugs, get the stock manifolds unbolted, get the car high enough up on jack stands, pull the starter on the passenger side, undo the steering linkage and remove the oil filter on the drivers side, remove old exhaust and bolt up the long tubes. Its very beneficial to have a buddy over while you do it. Depending on your experience level, can take anyway from 6 hours to a day. Anything over $300 would be wayyyy to much to pay in labor to have them done.

"I got mine installed for $300. I did't think that was a bad price."

Considering the work you have to do for a decent install, plus the tight space, I don't think $300.00 was a bad price, either. I have a lift in my shop. Sure, it beat doing the job out on the driveway with a jack and jack stands, but the job can still be a bich if you run into problems. Even with the lift, there's still a certain amount of underhood crap you gotta do, and a lift doesn't help you at all with that part.

I got my car back today after repairing a leak in the rear main seal and installing Pacesetter LT's and TSP catted Y. It probably tallied to about 425.00 W/O the RMS. I live in a small town in Texas and the shop I use has installed ALL my mods at reasonable prices. They are reputable and well equiped which is important. I work 11 hour days and can't dedicate the time to do it myself so spending the money for me is worth it. If you got the time and tools do it yourself cause the forum has lots of resourse info.

We charge $250 for Pacesetters and as high as $350 for some other brands as some take longer to install than others (ie SLP).

I installed mine for free. Guy I work with has a lift in his garage at home. Piece of cake. We (4 of us) installed Pacesetter LT's, ORY. Plus a Borla catback and a Racetronix PNP fuel system in 6 hours. That was also with taking out the egr and a.i.r. crap. That has to be worth a pretty penny in labor somewhere.

Mine was free too. Had a couple of my older buddies with TT Camaros come over and help me out, ran into a few problems and such. We put plugs and wires in too. 13hrs from start to finish, 1hr break.
