RandomTech cats with Hooker Y pipe?

RandomTech cats with Hooker Y pipe? Has anyone installed the RT bullet cats into the Hooker ORP y-pipe? Or does a completely new y pipe need to be fabricated from scratch to use cats?

Re: RandomTech cats with Hooker Y pipe? We'll I think it can be done and will try shortly. RandomTech has two 3" compact cats which have an OD of 4". One is pelletized and flows around 440cfm@28. Another one which is new, is a 'metallic' cat and flows around 560cfm@28. This one is shorter however it costs about $75 more. I plan to install a single cat just after the y.
The header install was easy using jack stands but pretty time consuming. Removing and reinstalling the #8 plug and wire was the most difficult part of the installation. I am surprised how quiet the car is with the ORP and Dynomax RaceWeld muffler. No drone while cruising and very quiet at idle.

Re: RandomTech cats with Hooker Y pipe? Well the answer is YES. I just had the cats mentioned above installed in the Hooker ORP. I recommend that the work be done by a good referred mechanic. I still have 3" of ground clearance. I believe that the car is quieter now with this setup than with the factory setup (or maybe the WOT runs with ORP caused some hearing loss <img border="0" title="" alt="[Smile]" src="gr_stretch.gif" /> ) . Now its time to run the car on a wide band and make some adjustments.
I don't have any pictures however if somebody in the metro Atlanta area has a digital camera and a friend with access to a lift...
