Wow, great work Tony. Please let us know how it works out for you, 'cause I need to build mine ASAP. <img border="0" title="" alt="[Cool]" src="gr_images/icons/cool.gif" />

I think the idea of the petcock was a good one too.

I did this same thing on an engine that was having oil control issues about 12 years ago. I made mine out of a mayo jar so it would stand up to the vacuum and I could check the level regularly. It didn't seem to help, I don't know what the problem was with the design, but it was the exact same principle that was in the pics.
Not shooting the idea down, but I have a hunch it is more complex than this.
The answer might be going to 2 breathers, capping the vacuum, and putting those breathers as far from the engine as possible so you don't get oil mist all over the engine bay.

For those of you unfamiliar with the GReddy catchcan, it does not have anything inside such as baffling or scrubbers. So something like Tony is suggesting should work just the same if setup properly.

I just made one for my LS1 and a friends WRX using a half-pint paint can similar to Tony's. I also substituted a nylon 3/8" elbow barb with 1/4" threads on it for one of the straight barbs he was using. Will get pics later.

I'll be doing this tommorow!

Thanks Tony, but where exactly does everything plug in?

The new page has a complete item list and price breakdown as well as many more pictures for all of you who just want to build one.

My first version cost about $12 to make...but as the ideas kept flowing, the design kept changing to make it better. Of course, then I stated selling them and the rest is history.

If you want to make one yourself, with an idea that has been proven in many cars, check the site tomorrow (or today if you want to see the 'old' version).

It's not like the markup on the whole kit is much over the cost...especially if you value your time (like I do). Me and the guy I am making these with (he came up with most of the ideas and does the fabrication) have spent at least 10 hours per week for the last 3-4 weeks in the various hardware stores and auto stores just looking for parts that will work correctly.

Nobody is getting rich here. We split a whole $30 profit to compensate for 3-4 hours invested in each kit.

I'd love to see pictures of the stainless kit for $45 (and I'd like to know if that price includes the tubing, hose clamps, inline filter, mounting bracket, and shipping).

I am totally not flaming here...I support the do-it-yourself-effort wholeheartedly...that is why I'm posting the complete specs tomorrow.
