Re: problems after LS6 intake install
You probably have a vacuum leak. Check the vacuum hose at the back of the manufold. If that does not work, pull off the manufold and check the rubber gaskets that cover the intake ports.

Re: problems after LS6 intake install
well the hose was on and all the gaskets seem to be in tact so now what gives?? I think i over tq'ed some of the bolts so would that have a effect?
also i have my AIR unhooked but i have the codes for it turned off.
i did notice a few slight surges at idle, but nothing really unnormal. Mostly this prob was under slight throttle like the car was flooding up. Maybe i fouled a plug

i dont have anything sealing the black tubes(i just pulled the checkairvalve off) that went to the header though. I can feel air blowing outta those.

Well, it's not that then. I was thinking if there was a possibility of air leaking into the header and messing with 02. If it is a vacuum leak and seriously messes with a/f then, dunno, maybe it could also set 02 code.

I had a leak also on my LS6 intake. It was popping bad through the exhaust and you could hear it in the engine bay leaking. It ended up setting a SES light for running lean on bank one and two.Whatever that means.Make sure your Knock sensors wire are not in the way under there.I still have my intake off going through the same thing you are <img border="0" title="" alt="[Sad]" src="gr_sad.gif" /> good luck

Mine seemed to idle fine and thats why i ruled out a vaccum leak. But hell There could still be a little one.

I seem to remember having to take off some stock clips or something so the intake manifold will seat properly by the knock sensors..also found my intake manifold bolts were very loose after a month or so..put some loctite blue on the front bolts..couldn't get to the back ones without taking the intake bascially off again..everything seems fine now..no codes..car runs great..you also can maybe pinch a line or leave one off on the back by the map sensor..I also have my map not plugged in right and it came loose..I got a code right away, car ran terrible and stalled out a lot..figured it out and all is good..sure is tight under those ls1 cowls..and sharp..I took some cutter or scissors forget now and cut almost all those little plastic pins/razor blades off and my hands have thanked me ever since.

My Knock sensor wires are right under the intake in there normal stance(guess that makes sense). I thought one maybe had gotten crimped in the the seal under there or something causeing a leak, but when i took off the intake everything looked ok. Also i never could hear any sucking or anything in the engine bay so im hoping a BAD 02 was causing my probs??? The exhaust smelt a little different also like it was gassy(raw fuel). I thought it was just some coolant burnin off that ran out, but that had a sweeter smell to it so that wasnt it.
worse comes to worse ill put the stock one back on i guess. Only takes 4-6 mins to pop the intake off now <img border="0" title="" alt="[Big Grin]" src="gr_grin.gif" />

Re: problems after LS6 intake install
I took off those clips also.Mine is a leak for sure though. It wouldn't idle right,it was real high like 1300 rpms then sometimes around 900rpms then when it would hit the gas from a stop it would stumble bad and not want to go.But the upper rpms was fine, until a set a high idle code then a lean bank 1 and 2 code.I'm checking into my problem tomorrow but i do think it was just that the bolts were to loose. And under normal driving, soon as you let off the gas it would pop like crazy through the exhaust.
