Throttle cable sticking!

Over the last 6 months or so, I have been driving and noticed a couple of times where my throttle would stick slightly, and hold right at about 2000 rpm. I could tap on the gas again and it would come unstuck and then work fine again. Today I was sitting in my driveway running an autotap on the car and I gave it a quick rev and it got stuck, being as how the car was there with the hood open, i looked out the windshield and the throttle cable had hopped out of the groove on the throttle body and got hung on the little angled section of the arm on the outside lip towards the front of the car. Has anyone else had this kind of problem? If so, how did you fix it? I was thinking about drilling a couple of holes in that arm and installing some roll pins so that the throttle cable could not hop out of the channel anymore. Any thoughts/ideas?
Thanks

I had the same problem with the 2000 SS I use to have, but it would stick about 3/4 to full throttle. The first time it stuck I just about soiled myself <img border="0" title="" alt="[Eek!]" src="gr_eek2.gif" /> <img border="0" title="" alt="[Embarrassed]" src="gr_emb.gif" /> <img border="0" title="" alt="[Big Grin]" src="gr_grin.gif" /> <img border="0" title="" alt="[Razz]" src="gr_tounge.gif" /> I solved the problem by trading it in for a C5 <img border="0" title="" alt="[Wink]" src="gr_images/icons/wink.gif" />

I had a similar problem on my '95 Lumina where the throttle cable/and plastic clip that held it to the metal bracket, would pop out of the metal retaining bracket close to the throttle body. I didn't have the sticking throttle situation like you, but noticed when it popped out, the car wouldn't open up to WOT.
So I got the hot glue gun out and glued the **** out of it. Until we traded it in, it had not come apart again, but if it had, I think the next move would be some high temp epoxy or even JB Weld.
