Hmmmm, I've never had that problem. Both sets of LS1 Kooks that I've installed, merged into catted y-pipes, and I've never had one hit the floor pan. I always wondered why their y-pipes had that hideous flat spot in them, and now I know why. I was going to have a 3" off-road y-pipe fabbed up to eliminate the flat spot, but the guy who runs the speed shop, where I buy all my parts, told me that if I did, it would definitely hit the floor pan when the engine torqued.
Oh, and JRracing, why did you have to go and post those pics? Now I have a boner. Lordy, but those things are gorgeous! Do you think they will heat dis-color badly enough to dull 'em up? Those are, without a doubt, the finest-looking set of headers I have ever seen!
