Lesson in restrictive exhausts
Brought the car in today to do some dyno tuning with LS1 edit.
Dyno: Pruven Performance Dynojet
Here is the setup (stuff that matters):
2000 WS6
ARE Stg II H/C
LS6 Intake
JBA Headers (doooh!)
Flow Master Exhaust (doooh!)
Whisper Lid
Ported TB
LS1 Edit (best mod yet)
1st Run: 349 HP, 348 Tq - Baseline no tuning done
2nd Run: 352 HP, 348 Tq - Pig Rich, tune for leaning
3rd Run: 355 HP, 352 Tq - A/F getting tanked to low 11's CAT protection <img border="0" title="" alt="[Sad]" src="gr_sad.gif" /> , timing pulled 1 deg
4th Run: 355 HP, 355 Tq - A/F leaned a bit more, car fell on its face at 5700 rpm.
So, for all those that look to modifying the exhaust last.... Restrictive exhaust, nets restrictive numbers <img border="0" title="" alt="[Sad]" src="gr_sad.gif" />
I will be pulling the cats and switching the CAT overtemp feature off in hopes of getting a little more out of this setup.
<strong>A cutout will make it sound like a POS truck with glasspacks. The Loudmouth sounds better than open cutouts for sure.</strong></font><hr /></blockquote><font size="2" face="Verdana, Helvetica, sans-serif"><img border="0" alt="[bullshit]" title="" src="graemlins/gr_bs.gif" /> <img border="0" title="" alt="[Big Grin]" src="gr_grin.gif" />
