This is puzzling me. It's happened in both my camaro and my friend's GTP. Knock started after we put 180* thermostats in. see about 5* of KR on my engine, and upwards of 7.5 on his. It's not like the cars are being hurt...i can still clock a 15.0, he can run 14.6 and trap at 94 on a warm night, and yet KR still shows up. After listening for knock we couldn't hear anything, it's puzzling me. coudl harmonics be a possibility as well? as far as the noise from the new cold air induction?

Without fan switch or hpp or whatever the thermostats do next to nothing..still get to same temp as before just might take slightly longer..therms don't control temps fans do..On buddies car he had massive knock retard..like
7 or whatever..very high..we added only an slp fan switch and as soon as we turned it on and temps came down below 200 the knock went away..
Usually knock retard is from too lean a mixture, too much timing..false knock from exhaust banging..or sometimes from bad carbon build up on the pistons. If you want to make the knock go away try a fan switch,on range colder spark plug or
higher octane fuel.
