Default Replace IAT?

While trying to pull my IAT sensor out to put in the new lid, I accidentally broke the plastic 3 pronged cage that covers the sensor. Will I need to replace the sensor for this little plastic piece, or will it work fine as is? Thanks in advance.

nahh- save your money, buy a 4.7Kohm resistor from radio shack (50 cents?) it will giv your computer a constant 55-57 degree reading. ive had this for a year now, no driveability probs or anything bad. supposedly good for a few hp too

untill he starts gettin to much timing in hot weather and gets ping because the computer cant compensate for the hott *** summer air goin in. depends where he lives but i wouldnt do that mine has the little cage partly broken off its just fine , the cage i think onlyjust is there to protect from large debris but i dunno why there would be any, just use it ifu have an issue then change it.

Mine has had the prongs gone for around 4 years with no issues. As long as the censor is not damaged you'll be fine. I agree with what was said above as well. Its best to just let the computer compensate for timing.

As stupid as this will sound that resistor actually helped to get rid of spark knock on mine.

I think that it is all in your tune. Just like mafs. Some people have no issues and their car runs better. Then some have nothing but problems with just a simple swap.

LS1 Intake Air Temperature (IAT) sensor (98-02) (AC-Delco #213-243) = 12160244

A good place to find almost every part number.

Just under $20 at the dealer, if you need a new grommet it's 24504388, another couple bucks.
