Mac Header install?

Mac Header install? Hello, me and a friend are going to be installing Mac headers on his Z in a few days and I was wondering if he will need a 12" O2 extension. I've performed many searches and have not really came up with much. Any help is greatly appreciated <img border="0" title="" alt="[Smile]" src="gr_stretch.gif" />

Re: Mac Header install? No,Your wires will be long enough.There's an install page here you can check out.I did everything this site says except for not jacking up the motor,I got the headers in without having to do that.Good luck

Re: Mac Header install? I installed my macs this weekend and i had to extend the front driverside O2 sensor by about 4 inches. There might have been a way to avoid this, but as far as i could tell this was by far the easiest way. If you got the Offroad pipe dont forget O2 sims. If you got the offroad version also expect it to sound like raspy, crackly, ****. Im almost imbarassed to drive now its so raspy. Im ordering a Dr Gas X-pipe setup with bullets to solve this problem.

Re: Mac Header install? What it is on the driver side is the O2 sensor wire is wrapped up with tape along with a ground wire that goes to the block.All you do is pull some tape of enough for the sensor to be long enough to reach the hole.No big deal.
Re: Mac Header install? Nope. The O2 sensor wire should reach. I did both sides from the top after I removed the passenger side valve cover. The install is pretty easy if you have decent tools. You can e-mail me if you have any specific questions. Ben

Re: Mac Header install? is there a y pipe that is an off road version that i can use with my flowmaster cat back and wont sound raspy....it has to bolt straight to the headers...and also have NOT CATS i want the power
