My buddy has a 2000 Z28 with a descreened maf lid cut egr tube and loudmouth exhaust, he put in 100 octane and about 20 min after driving it he got a ses light is the octane the reason for this??? Or is it something else.

 

Best way to track that down would be to find out what the code is. Some local auto parts stores will scan your car for free. Try calling around. Once you know what code the computer is throwing it will be much easier to diagnose the problem. Hope this helps

Two things, if he just filled up did he get the gas cap tight enough ( three/four clicks ), take it to AutoZone ( free ) and have them pull the code.

yeah if the 100 was leaded then that's your cause!

 

I would go with the 02 sensor's. They don't like race fuel, "at all!" <img border="0" title="" alt="[Big Grin]" src="gr_grin.gif" />
