Re: Exhaust question,any adverse effect....
i have the same catback.. it will not rust.. it is aluminized tubing.
that being said if you still want to, putting tips on it will not hurt flow measurablly.

Not being familiar with the RT catback, I assume it has 3" slash cut straight pipes. I installed a B&B and thought the pipes looked like rice so I cut them off and welded on Stainless slash cut straight pipes. If you're worried about rust, you should find these SS pipes (actually extensions) at any good muffler shop.

Re: Exhaust question,any adverse effect....
Dual 3 inch tips on a 3 inch cat-back system don't restrict flow. Shoot, two 2-1/4 inch tips should be adequate, because as the exhaust cools travelling thru the pipes and especially thru the muffler, the volume of gas decreases, so you actually need smaller pipes the farther you get from the engine. (gas volume is proportional to temperature).
As long as the total tip flow area is at least equal to the muffler flow area, you should be fine.

Exhaust question,any adverse effect....
I have a RT 3" catback I plan on installing on my car.The tailpipes are also 3" and slash cut. They will eventually rust and look like ****.I plan on cutting my stock tips off, chopping the inlet side to form a rectangular tube.I also will cut the slash tip off the RT tailpipes, and ovalize them by clamping them in a vise.I'll then weld the stock tips onto the tailpipes.I don't think this will have an adverse effect on flow because I should still have about the same size opening.Correct me if I'm wrong. All input appreciated.Does anyone sell good looking stainless 3" tips just in case my idea really sucks?
