Just installed my headers, got a quesiton I just got my car back from a local speed shop that installed my headers and ypipe, when im in any gear and have the throttle held down, either full or light throttle, the car seems to surge, like something is mis firing, i got the service engine soon light, because my car has EGR and my headers dont, could this be the problem? the EGR is unplugged

They said my headers dont have the correct EGR, thats what they told me yesterday, but i looked, and my EGR is hooked up to the headers, but the EGR has that plug undone on the top, should I plug it in?

Re: Just installed my headers, got a quesiton I can try, let me try to explain more, If you are looking at the engine, the electrical part of the EGR is to the lft, there is a little plug that goes DIRECTLY into the top of it, the metal tube that come from the intake goes into the bottom of this box, does this help?

Re: Just installed my headers, got a quesiton Took a picture off www.installuniversity.com site, I'm not sure why there telling you have the wrong EGR but I'd plug the wires back in. If you have an AutoZone near you I'd take the car to them and have them clear the code, they can tell you what the code was and price is right, FREE.

Re: Just installed my headers, got a quesiton Damn, thi still didnt work, they cleared the code but it came back, Im totaly confused, the car feels almost like a spark plug is barely firing or isnt at all, its pissing me off, because i thought my car would be just as smooth with the headers as it was when it was stock. it sounds horrible too, im so disapointed.

When the pipe gets bent and messes up the EGR valve it makes the car run like ****. So just completely remover the whole think out of the engine bay. Need to get a way to plug up the intake manifold hole though.

Re: Just installed my headers, got a quesiton Damn it, I was hoping this thread was dead. So what was the code, maybe it is the plugs/ wires? I remember a post from a few days ago about a guy having problems after his headers were installed. While it was dark in his garge he started the engine to see if he could see any arching of the plugs and wires. What he found was the dipstick was touching one of the coil packs, that's probably not your problem but it's worth a try to see if you see any arching going on. Please, the next time you reply here tell me you found the problem. May the force be with you.

Re: Just installed my headers, got a quesiton allright, ill check out all of these problems in the morning, the car seems to be allot slower, so im thinking my problem may lie in the spark plugs.
