Magnecor or Taylor?Which one & why
I am looking into the truck plug wires for my z28 and was wondering which ones are better? The Mags are 79.99 and the taylors are 49.99.The mags are 8.5mm and the taylors are 8mm.I am all about HP and will buy the ones that give me the most but I am smart enough to know that the price tag doesnt always affect that so I thought I would ask.Any dyno numbers are swaps from one to the other? Thanks everyone.

Alonzo, I used the Taylor truck wires with the valvecover spacers and had no problems with them.
The Accel 8.8mm 300+ race wires work great too. Gordon and Allan are running these with the spacers.

Re: Magnecor or Taylor?Which one & why
I originally had Magnacore's on my LS1 and I also put them on my Brother in law's 98 Z28. Both had problems. Where the problem starts is that the Magnacore wires are a tad too short. This would cause the wire to work or wiggle it's way off the plug and resulting in a poor connection (if it didn't come all the way off). This resulted in the wire frying itself out.
On mine I replaced them with MSD. I've always had great luck with MSD stuff on other vehicle's and the only reason I went with the Magnacore's over the MSD's was the lower resistance that I measured on a multimeter. The Magnacore's at the time had the lowest resistance of them all. MSD's weren't too far behind.
On my Brother in Law's car, I simply put stock wires back on as he was trading it in for a truck.
I've now got 10,000 on the MSD's and couldn't be happier.

Magnecores suck. Dont even bother getting them. The dont click on the plug worth a crap, and at least once a week I had to put 2 wires back on the plugs.

Re: Magnecor or Taylor?Which one & why
I have had 2 sets of MSD's and recently switched to magnacores. I kept breaking MSD's because the rubber boot at the sparkplug would melt to the fooking sparkplug. The wires would then separate as the wire plug was pulled off. Not very maintenance friendly. Great wire though, if you only plan on installing wires ONCE.
I recently switched to the magna's and I am very pleased. The people are correct. You have to make sure that you put them on ALL THE WAY, but they use the stock heatshield and look as though they will be a little more maintenance friendly.

Why do you want to use the "truck" wires as opposed to the normal Fbody wires? <img border="0" title="" alt="[Confused]" src="images/icons/confused.gif" />
