It's not plywood...it's more of a composite like masonite...not fiberboard either...very smooth when cut...like solid wood, but better. The sheet was under $6.00. You'll need a jig saw, a bench grinder and a lot of sand paper to contour it all to fit. Gorilla glue to bond the pieces together and spray paint to make it look more factory. The space between the hood and the airbox is around 1". I bought weatherstripping, but didn't need it as the largest gap is less than 1/16". A little harder closing the hood now, it's that tight, LOL.
i went to Lowes the other day to look for something like this but they apparently don't have anything like that...
