Can O2 sensors be cleaned ?????
I've always been skeptical of the cleaners you can add to fuel. As for actually cleaning them with some type of solvent, I guess you could try electronics parts cleaner. I think once they are too dirty, it's just "over johnny".

I've done it with a torch.
Go to Lowes and get a $10 propane torch.
Put the sensor in a vice.
Hit it 5 ways; 4 sides and from the top, holding it for 45-60 seconds at a time on the bung.
Cleans it right up.
I save a few O2's this way.
Go to Lowes and get a $10 propane torch.

Is there a chemical that can get the build-up off of them?

I never messed them up with the torch, it just glows red. Not aware of any chemical that can do it. I found the tip doing a google on O2's about 3 years ago.
